Folded Architecture

THE CHALLENGE

To turn a two story house located in the Pyrenees Mountains of Spain into an inspiring retreat and the concept to be derived from a piece of furniture.

THE DESIGN

This home uses a singular plane that folds into walls, floors and furniture to create spaces. The concept inspiration came from the Flux Chair which is made of one piece of material and can easily assemble and disassemble.

The client, an architect escaping the busy city, can retreat into this minimal home unified by the geometry and complementary to the snow outlooks on all sides. A space for artistic thinking of strong geometric framework, custom furniture and unique spacial depth.
