Sketch London

Sketch London is a series of sketches done in London during a travel course in the summer of 2013.
My mediums of choice were a black uniball ink pen and a Copic 0.003 fine point for the majority of sketches. Prismacolor cool grey 20%,50% and 80% and Winston & Newton watercolors were used for shadow and color studies.
Throughout the course I became more confident and steady with lines, line weights and shadows. I learned to sketch both one and two point perspectives and utilized a variety of visual techniques to study architectural forms. Learned and experimented with a variety of rendering techniques using markers and watercolors. All field sketches were completed on site.

DIRECTION: Professor Stephanie Travis

DURATION: 2 week course; live sketch sessions range from 5 minutes to 1 hour.

Sketches are displayed from September 5, 2013 – October 11, 2013 at the ARCHER showroom in Georgetown, Washington D.C.
